Proteus® Software for Thermal Analysis

 

Simultaneous Determination of Seebeck Coefficient and Electrical Conductivity

 

The NETZSCH Proteus® software runs under the Windows® user interface (Windows® 7, 32-/64-bit, Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate; Windows® 8.1 Pro and Enterprise; Windows® 10 Pro and Enterprise) and includes, even in its basic version, all of the functions necessary for carrying out and evaluating measurements. User-friendly menus combined with automated routines make this software very easy to use while still providing sophisticated analysis.   

It is licensed with the corresponding instrument’s computer, but can also be installed on additional analysis computers. For in-depth measurement and evaluation methods such as for purity or Density Determination, a variety of additional software packages – some of which are instrument-specific – are optionally available.

Advanced Software package a set of four individual software for the advances analysis of thermoanalytical data and further predictions and simulations.

 

 

Kinetics Neo

 

Kinetics Neo is a software for the kinetic analysis of thermal measurements, including model-free and model basedkinetic analysis. It allows to find the set of kinetic parameters e.g. number of steps, contribution of each step to the total effect of the process such as step enthalpy or step mass loss; reaction type, activation energy and reaction order for each step. Then this information will be used for predictions of reaction progress for given temperature conditions or optimization of temperatures to get the desired reaction rate and product concentrations.

 

Thermal Simulations

 

A program for simulation of the thermal behavior under conditions of both heat generation and heat conductivity. A finite element solution for simple geometries such as infinite plate, infinite cylinder and sphere is offered. The temperature dependence of cp, density and heat conductivity is taken into account.

 

 

Component Kinetics

 

The Program is a software module for kinetic evaluation of measurements with reactions in homogeneous mixtures. The total process is presented as the sum of elementary reactions. The software determines the pre-exponential factor and activation energy for each elementary reaction and makes the prediction and optimization of the reaction behaviour for any temperature conditions and for any initial concentration of reactants, including the presence of solvent.

 

 

Peak Separation

 

If your experimental curve looks very complex with several maxima and seems to contain several overlapping peaksthen our software helps to separate these peaks, presents experimental data as a sum of peaks, and analyzes each peak separately. The universal peak shape is used, which is the weighted mixture of Fraser-Suzuki and asymmetric Cauchy. The following peak types are the partial cases of the universal peak shape: Gaussian, Cauchy, Pseudo- Voigt (additive mixture of Gaussian and Cauchy), Fraser-Suzuki (asymmetric Gaussian), Laplace, asymmetric Laplace and asymmetric Cauchy.

 

 

NETZSCH directA Software for Modulated Thermogravimetry

 

Calculation Methods in directA Versions

 

NETZSCH directA is the software for direct analysis of the thermogravimetric data, measured under the conditions of modulated temperature. The software calculates activation energy of chemical reactions from one modulated thermogravimetric measurement as the continuous function of time, temperature or reaction conversion over the whole measurement.

 

Introduction

 

Modulated Thermogravimetry is the analysis method of the thermograviometric data measured under conditions of the modulated themperature. Modulated temperature is the sum of the underlying linear heating or constant temperature and sinus-shaped temperature oscillations with user-defined amplitude and period.

 

Data Import

 

The software can import data in plain text ASCII format. These data files can be created by export from the software connected with your instrument. Another way is tab-delimited ASCII export from Microsoft® Excel. Data for analysis must be time-equidistant.

 

During data import user must point here the column number for time, temperature and modulated Thermogravimetric signal. Additional required information is the temperature amplitude and oscillation period.

 

Imported data can be shown as the one of signal type: TG, DTG or modulated temperature. X-Axis is time, temperature or reaction conversion.

 

Analysis

 

Analysis of the calculatied data is done by three different methods: Standard method, Linear Method and Non-linear Method. 

 

The software has the functionality of graphic zoom, copy graphic to clipboard and print graphic.
