UV Lamp 4

Two types of UV light are required for inspecting thin-Layer chromatograms:

Long-wave UV light 366 nm
Under long-wave UV light substances that can be excited to fluoresce appear as bright spots, often differently colored, on a dark background. The sensitivity of this detection method increases with the intensity of the UV light and also as more visible light is eliminated.

Short-wave UV light 254nm
Under 254 nm UV substances absorbing at that wavelength become visible, provided the TLC layer contains a fluorescent indicator, e.g. F254. These substances appear as dark spots on a bright background.

Key features

  • Two UV tubes for illumination (1 × UV 254 nm & 1 × UV 366 nm, each 8W)

  • Convenient handling through one button operation for each UV tube

  • Homogeneous illumination

  • Improved user safety through tilt sensor and timer (automatic switch-off after 10 min)

UV Cabinet 4

The UV Cabinet 4 consists of a CAMAG UV Lamp 4 and the Viewing Box 4. The front of the Viewing Box 4 is closed with a roller shutter. Eyes are protected by the UV filter in the viewing window. The distance between UV lamp and object is optimally selected for homogeneous illumination and observation of the entire plate through the viewing window.

Key features

  • Minimum space requirements through reduced footprint

  • Eyes protected through UV filter in the viewing window

  • Almost no influence of ambient light

smartCut Plate Cutter

Convenient and precise cutting of pre-coated TLC/HPTLC glass plates.

Key Features

  • Cuts plates with a thickness up to 3 mm

  • Easy on the sensitive layer

  • Desired size can be read directly from a scale

  • Prevents offcuts and thus saves money

  • Easy handling

Test Dye Mistures

Test dye mixtures are useful for functional checks on individual steps in the TLC procedure and for studying the influence of specific parameters.

TLC/HPTLC Pre-Coated plates

In most cases modern TLC utilizes precoated layers. Not only are they more convenient, their quality is superior to that of layers prepared from the type of adsorbents available for self-coating.
