Main Bench FTIR (Nicolet Summit /iS10 FTIR)

Functions :

FTIR is commonly used for material identification. When IR radiation is passed through a sample, some radiation is absorbed by the sample and some passes through (is transmitted). The resulting signal at the detector is a spectrum representing a molecular 'fingerprint' of the sample. The usefulness of infrared spectroscopy arises because different chemical structures (molecules) produce different spectral fingerprints.


Applications :

Laser Scattering Particle Size Analyzer

Contact Angle & Surface Tension Measurement

- Functions :

The contact angle is the angle at which a liquid in the air interface meets a solid surface. From the contact angles that formed on different surfaces or by different liquids, the wettability properties of a solid surface by a liquid can be studied and is one of the common ways to measure the wettability of surface material. Besides that, the surface free energy of solid can be determined by incorporating this technique and it is useful to quantify the wettability of a solid and for predictions of surface-liquid interactions. Surface tension measurement can be beneficial for studying the intermolecular interactions forces within a liquid system.
