The adoption of High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography (HPTLC) in Malaysia is expected to increase significantly following recent regulatory developments in the herbal and natural products industry.
The Malaysian government recognizes the growing potential of the herbal industry, together with increasing consumer demand for high-quality and standardized herbal products. As part of this initiative, the industry is moving toward the implementation of HPTLC profile screening requirements for herbal product manufacturers and importers beginning in 2026, with full compliance expected by 2028.
